Eric Belfi or The Philly Vegan Guy is an Italian who grew up in South Philly. From a very early age he found out he had a love of good food and a passion to cook. This has served him well over the years and in some cases a little too well! Back in August of 2011 Eric was overweight at 260 pounds, tired and feeling sick all the time. He started down a road to ‘get healthy’. That road had some twists and turns to it and eventually lead him to where he is today – a vegan runner who still has a passion for cooking and eating along with a newfound passion for the welfare of all animals. As mentioned, I myself tried veganism and I did a crap job at it. I lost a ton of weight and was pretty un healthy, even though you usually simulate good healthy with vegans.
Throughout the years, I’ve slowly cut meat out of my life. I am primarily eating vegetarian, but occasionally love some form of carnivorous meal here and there. My reason for interviewing Eric was to let make you all aware of the possibilities. Eric has a job, runs a blog, trains for marathons, and eats vegan. It’s possible. And you can do it too. I hope you get a lot out of this episode.
